What is your differential for this tooth pain?

No sig med Hx. Anterior tooth, no history of trauma or any restorative work, started bothering the pt last night after drinking hot fluids but the pain wasn't severe and it went away so the pt was able to fall asleep. They woke up with barely any pain but a slight sensitivity in that tooth. They had a hot coffee for breakfast and the pain became excruciating. The only thing that keeps the pain away is ice water which they have to sip every 30 seconds or so or else the excruciating pain returns. They've been sipping on it all day. There is pain on percussion but NOT on biting. There is no swelling or discomfort to palpation anywhere in the vestibule or palate. There is slight interproximal discoloration but they do have mild generalized staining.

I know it's hard to know anything for sure without your own clinical exam and a PA and this tooth will def need endo but, what would be your guesses as far as etiology and diagnosis?

Thank you docs!
