Hello! I’m a 28 y/o female who has had obscene amounts of dental work. Most of it stems from when I was younger and was abused by a dentist. I was given 13 unnecessary fillings in one appointment. That was about 15 or so years ago. I will also say that I have an anaphylactic level allergy to mint. It wasn’t until I moved overseas that I was able to find a brand of toothpaste that was safe for me. Before that, I was just using water and an electric toothbrush. Since moving (beginning of 2020), I have found a number of very dark areas and areas where it looks like a filling is actually chipping (mostly on the front of my teeth, not where they occlude). I also grind my teeth a lot - so much so that I have ground off a portion of a crown.
All in all, I’m wondering if it’s just... time to replace these fillings and/or, if suddenly changing (improving?) my oral care routine affected anything.
I had twice-a-year cleanings and no one ever really noticed anything over the past six years with my former dentist.
I’m just concerned that I’m noticing more and more things now, and at a time when it’s harder to get things treated immediately.
Thank you!
