Cut on gum

Hi not good at reddit so sorry if I don’t do this right but I have a cut on my bottom left (right if your looking at me) gum and I think it’s from brushing either too rough or because of my charcoal toothpaste I’ve been using but I am unsure. I just want to know if I should be concerned. I will provide a picture if necessary but I’ll wait until I’m asked because it looks disgusting in my opinion. I would just really like help and need to know if I should see a dentist. It is also very painful so I put topical anesthetic on it. Thank you for the help
