27M. 5'8" 145 lbs. White.
Medications: Klonopin, Truvada (PrEP)
Alcohol: Moderately
Smoking: Smoked cigarettes for about 12-13 years, quit 1 year ago - have been vaping instead
Primary Complaint: Since November of 2019 I started getting the sensation in the back left part of my mouth that something was there. It just feels like food stuck under the tongue or something. But the sensation never went away.
I saw my dentist a few times over the next few months to get some fillings done and asked my dentist about it each time, but she insisted that everything is normal, the tissue looks fine, and she told me it is not cancer (without even doing a biopsy?).
It's now May and it is still there. It hasn't really changed much in size - some days it looks bigger than others - but It. Is. Not. Going. Away.
I am desperate for further advice as to what I should do, especially in the midst of this viral pandemic. It literally feels like something is in my mouth 24/7, and I am beyond tired of it. It is not painful, but what is it?
Attached is a picture of what I can see when I look in the mirror and what I think to be the cause. The right side of my tongue looks completely normal with no enlargements whatsoever.
I should also mention I've been having some left jaw pain and pain in the back of my throat where my left tonsil it. It looks visibly red / inflamed.
