What is it called when your teeth are touching all the way to your jaw?

So, my front upper tooth and the one right next to it are touching each other all the way from the jaw to the end. My dentist took an x-ray of it to confirm. I cannot remember what she called it, so I'm having difficulty searching for it on the internet.

These two teeth being so close together seem to contribute to my gums right around them being constantly inflamed. I also have TMJ (according to my previous dentist) and had an appliance for a number of years and I'm considering getting another one because my jaw hurts daily. But the point is, I think that's also contributing to the inflammation.

With my current dentist, they noticed my sensitive gums during cleanings/checkups. I was still wearing my appliance at the time. They expected there to be a buildup of plaque or tartar, but didn't find any. They gave me an antibiotic in a syringe to bathe the small area of gum between my teeth. I spent a solid six months brushing, flossing, and using the antibiotic on the area and it was still inflamed every single day.

After the six months I asked to do invisalign to try to improve the situation. Well, I'm not very assertive, so I didn't make sure they planned for a gap there. All they did was straighten my teeth and hide all the extra space I have behind my canines. So my teeth are still adjacent. Maybe I should go in and make a very direct request on this, but right now they're only taking emergency patients and I'm trying to social distance anyway.

I've been wearing my retainers for both top and bottom teeth for about six months now. About a week ago, my gums were so inflamed that I could feel pain from the teeth all the way through the roof of my mouth. I've also been feeling jaw pain when I'm not even using it. Since then I've gotten a softer toothbrush, sensitive toothpaste and mouthwash, and I even stopped wearing my upper retainer a few nights ago just to see if that will relieve some of the pain and pressure on my teeth.

My idea is to get a new appliance to help my jaw and maybe do some braces again for the top to make real space between those two upper teeth to allow my gums to finally settle down. Any advice would be appreciated.
