Waterpik - cordless or the big units?

Because of covid, my dentist cannot open yet and recommended I buy a waterpik to add to my home routine before I can see him again (I have gum inflammation/recession with my older anterior crowns). He said use the low settings gently only. Do the dentists on here recommend the big unit waterpiks (if yes, which brand?) or the portable ones I just discovered existed (they look so much easier to use in my tiny bathroom)? I know anything that's easier isn't always best but I appreciate the advice from the forum. Thanks!
