Upper second molar extraction

Hi, r/Dentistry. I may need to get my upper right second molar removed. The dentist that suggested this said that it wouldn’t be a big deal if I did. However, after doing some research i’m a little concerned. I’ve read that extracting a tooth without replacing it can lead to bone loss, teeth shifting, and other teeth falling out. If I can’t afford an implant, will I really be okay without a second molar? I’m currently 21 y/o and haven’t had my wisdom teeth extracted if that matters.
