Hello I’m a 25 year old male and I’ve been accepted into dental school in Texas. I’ve been a nurse for about 3 years now and initially I thought I wanted to become a nurse anesthesiologists. However, after watching my girlfriend in dental school and seeing what she did my passion shifted. I became intrigued with the Mouth and everything regarding dentistry. I knew that I didn’t want to stay a nurse forever even though I love my job. Applying to dental school was tough, going back to school and taking the DAT. Overall the whole process took my about a year. The school I choose is extremely diversified and focus a lot of hand skills which i know I’ll need i don’t have any experience in dentistry other than my gf and going to a summer enrichment program called spep. However I’m excited! A lot of my friends ask my why? Dentistry to nursing I just tell them it’s something I fell for and I had to see it through. Hopefully this can encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and try something that they might enjoy.
