I've heard of SDC for a while now but I just recently started to really look into it. I've needed braces for years now and have yet to get around to starting the process (mostly due to the cost) so aligners that are advertised to be $4,000-$5,000 less than traditional braces seemed like an ideal opportunity.
I've been doing some research on them and the reviews genuinely seem to be split--a perfect 50/50. I've read stories of people who've experienced great results, and on the contrary, I've read stories from people who only ended up with even more damage to their teeth than prior. Considering I really can't afford (literally or figuratively) to ruin any more teeth, I'm most likely going to stay far away from them.
However, I did notice that on their website they list a number of their office locations in which you can go in and have your teeth x-rayed as opposed to paying the cost of having the mold shipped to you. How can such a well-presented company (esp. considering their offices) have such horrible reviews? How are there such awful stories regarding SDC but such wonderful great regarding Invisalign (or any other dentist-approved aligners, for that matter?).
