Is it normal for patients to get so messed up on nitrous that they forget what happened?
So today I had my first filling in 20 years. I've always had anxiety when it comes to the dentist and so my dentist gave me nitrous to help my nerves. I was prepared to be more relaxed, however I was not prepared to get absolutely f**ked up/ridiculously high off of it. I barely remember the past 3 hours cause of it. I do remember them getting started, then my dentist numbing my gum, then I was out. Next thing I remember is my dentist and his assistant shaking me to wake up and to make sure I was okay. According to them I was moving my arms around and trying to get out of the chair. I'm honestly so embarrassed because I can't remember anything. When I first saw them when I regained some consciousness I was scared cause I forgot where I was.
So is this normal for some patients to react this way to nitrous? I feel so embarrassed and keep trying to tell myself it's normal but I can't shake this weird feeling about it.
