Feeling pretty desperate, tooth extraction still painfull 15 days later.

Just over 2 weeks ago i had a lower back tooth taken out due to pulpitis, the one next to my wisdom tooth. It seemed to take my dentist quite a while to get it out, maybe 10 minutes (no idea if thats typical or not). She chipped another tooth in the process, although only small. The clot didnt form from the start at all, when i looked in the mirror parts of my roots were visible on my wisdom tooth and the next tooth along from the extracted tooth. The gum was also split on the inside and outside, it looked like a huge gaping hole...again, not sure if thats typical or not. 2 days later i knew i had a dry socket as ive had 2 previous dry sockets and the pain was the same as those occasions. The dentist packed it with a dressing and gave me a course of metrodinazole for 7 days. 5 days into the course of antibiotics the pain had increased along with some small abcesses on my upper gums so i went back, the dentist gasped and said how sore it looked and gave me a further 7 days metrodinazole (14 days total).

I have 2 days left on my metrodinazole and the pain is only slightly less that the initial infection, the abscesses have gone but many of my teeth feel very sensitive, mostly the 2 either side of the extraction and the tooth immediately above on my upper jaw, but also my front top and bottom teeth.

Is this refered pain from the extraction sight with the exposed roots or is it possibly still infected? The tooth next to the extraction site and the one above feel especially sensitive to the touch, even just pressing with tongue causes pain. I appreciate not seeing the extraction site will limit your opinion (tried several times to get a picture to post with this) but does it sound more like a persistent infection or refered pain perhaps? It looks pretty clean, maybe a little angry and red. Does dry socket, tooth extraction and infection typically take this long to heal, 15 days as of today. If the pain from the infection was 8/10, id say my current pain is 6 or 7/10. Sorry for lengthy post, felt it important to lay out the facts.
