I had a consultation with an orthodontist and he told me that he's 99.99% certain that my incisor is ankylosed based on the x-ray and the sound of it when he tapped on it. He told me that he doesn't think any dentist ("in the US," so pretty much implying that I'd have to go abroad) would operate on it...aside from adding length to the tooth which ends up making it look longer than the rest of the teeth.
I'm self-conscious about smiling and showing teeth because of it. It's really upsetting to hear.
