Persistent pain after filling

Hi!About 4 days ago I was treated with a filling because of a cavity. The decay was so deep to the point that the dentist was torn between filling and devitalizing the tooth. He finally opted for an occlusal-distal filling. But now, even if four days have passed, I still feel the pain: in particular, the tooth is sensitive to the cold (i feel pain when the tooth comes into contact with toothpaste or cold water). Is this an indication that the tooth requires a root canal therapy?I have also to add that sometimes I struggle to understand if the tooth is only linked to that tooth, because sometimes I feel a kind of generalized pain that seems to involve other teeth and nerves (I'm not sure of this last thing, I don't know if it is only an impression).

What do you think about it? Is it normal that I still feel the pain?
